Revised Guidelines of Good Practice on Electricity Balancing Markets Integration (GGP-EBMI)Revised Guidelines of Good Practice on Electricity Balancing Markets Integration (GGP-EBMI)

The final GGP have now been published (September 2009), under the "Consultation Documents" tab above.

This public consultation deals with a proposed revision of ERGEG's December 2006 Guidelines of Good Practice on Electricity Balancing Markets Integration (GGP-EBMI), which set out ERGEG's recommendations on the need and method for integrating electricity balancing markets.

Taking into account the feedback received from respondents to the public consultation of the GGP in 2006, the results of the DG COMP energy sector inquiry and the findings presented in a consultant study on this issue financed by European Commission, ERGEG has prepared a revision to the GGP-EBMI. The main enhancement of this revision is the inclusion of issues related to the dependencies and interactions of balancing markets with automatically-activated reserves and intraday markets.

Interested parties are invited to submit comments by 16 March 2009 and these should be sent by e-mail to:  electricitybalancing@ergeg.org.

Following the end of the public consultation period, ERGEG will publish all comments and replies to questions received from stakeholders.  If a respondent would like ERGEG to treat their contribution with confidentiality then this must be explicitly mentioned in their reply. Unless marked as confidential, all responses will be published by placing them on the ERGEG website: http://www.energy-regulators.eu.
