ERGEG public consultation on medium and long-term electricity transmission capacity allocation rulesERGEG public consultation on medium and long-term electricity transmission capacity allocation rules

This ERGEG Benchmarking report on medium and long-term electricity allocation rules has the objective of comparing and identifying the best practices of ERGEG´s Regional Initiatives concerning medium and long-term electricity transmission capacity allocation rules. Using this document, ERGEG will be able to identify next steps in this topic to work towards the harmonisation in long-term products. Indeed, a single European set of auction rules for medium and long-term capacity rights would facilitate cross-border trade on a long term basis.

ERGEG invites all stakeholders interested in the issue to respond to this public consultation, both in general and in relation to the questions in Section 1.2 of the report.

Interested parties are invited to submit comments by 14 May 2010 and these should be sent by e-mail to:  Benchmark_LT_auction_rules@ergeg.org.

Following the end of the public consultation period, ERGEG will publish all comments and replies to questions received from stakeholders.  If a respondent would like ERGEG to treat their contribution with confidentiality then this must be explicitly mentioned in their reply. If possible, confidential information should be provided as a separate annex, so that the main document may be published. Unless marked as confidential, all responses will be published by placing them on the ERGEG website: http://www.energy-regulators.eu.

Any questions relating to this document should in the first instance be directed to:
